Bathroom Renovation Tips (Jack Wogan)

Nov 2, 2010

Like the design of each one of the rooms from your house, the design of the bathroom is extremely important too. After all this has to be chosen following the same style of the rest of the place. Bathrooms are really important because usually people are looking for a place where they can start fresh in the morning and be able to relax in the evening, while enjoying a foam bath. So they have to be practical, great looking and easy to clean.
Before starting a bathroom renovation project, take some time to think about what you expect to get from it and consider all the factors that would influence the result.

1. Even if you want to fit in many pieces of furniture and other decorating objects, this might not be possible if the room is a small one. But there are some tricks you can take advantage of. First of all choose tiles for both the walls and the floors in light colors. Walls that are too dark can make your bathroom look even smaller. An excellent choice would be applestone limestone tiles, that look great and light up the place. If you need a cabinet, go for one that is inbuilt and covered by mirrors, to create the illusion of additional space.

2. What style are you aiming for?
If you are considering a traditionally decorated bathroom, start by choosing classical tiles for the walls and flooring. This means opting for neutral colors. Instead of a regular bathtub, purchase a claw-foot one. They are very stylish and as practical as a regular one. To create a five stars bathroom just make sure that everything is chosen wisely, so each item can compliment the others.

Modern bathrooms are practical but also good looking. Because they are usually more spacious than traditional ones, you can choose to create a fabulous tiles mosaic for both the walls and the flooring. Instead of a regular bathtub go for a Jacuzzi or a shower cabin with additional features, like a radio or a CD player built-in.

3. The choice of materials is important too. A contemporary bathroom would have walls that do not have paint peeling off because of humidity. Furthermore it is important to avoid mildew because it is not healthy and looks awful. This is why tiles can be the best choice. Limestone tiles for example are resistant to water, do not get damaged by humidity and can be very a stylish choice.
