The Unique Differences Between A Mac And A PC (Ray Jennings)

Mar 10, 2010

When you are looking at computers today, the decisions on the market are limitless. But what type of computer is right for you? And then there is the even bigger question: Do you really want a Mac or a PC?. You will discover a lot of different areas which you can compare a mac vs PC. So lets begin taking a look at some of the most important points to look for when buying a computer.

The easiest way to compare a Mac and PC would be to compare the most similar Mac and PC. Before a few years ago it was a whole lot more difficult to compare the two due to the fact they were running on different kinds of processors. Nonetheless, in the last few years Apple has started building their Macbooks and iMacs with the Intel processor, this makes the comparison much easier.

The style and design, or look of the computer itself is what most of us initially judge how much we like something. Brands that produce PC's have improved the look of them greatly in recent times.. Macs though, are still way ahead in the style stakes with their sleek. That said, there are plenty of choices on the pc side of things. Mac and PC both come with different software, so you need to look at that as well, especially if you are changing from a PC to a Mac and need certain programs..

Let's face it, this is a time when money is important and if you are going to shell out serious cash for a computer, the last thing you want to do is spend even more money on software. PC's have always done a great job of offering the basic necessities so far as basic needs, word processing, presentation software and other programs. These days there are even great design, photo, and video packages offered along with the computers. When it comes to the Mac, you can't beat standard package that comes with every Mac, the iLife suite.. It includes an Garage band, which is a user friendly audio recording program. It also includes itunes, iphoto, imovie, idvd, and a list of other user friendly applications that flow very well together.

Price is always another important comparison if you believe the two machines are created almost equal. When yo think about it, it is not worth comparing anything if you can't afford it anyway. While the PC that lines up with the mac is going to be at least a third cheaper, mac fans would argue that there will be repair costs, and other expenditures needed if you settle for a PC. As with any purchase you need to determine your budget and then research the best quality option that covers all of your needs for your price.
