Many people posted regularly when they first started a blog. Driven by strong passion, they write frequently and most of the times, they are able to make several posts in a week.
However, after a period of time, typically in less than 6 months, they will start to get bored and slow down. Finally, some will quit the scene and stop blogging.
There are many reasons why it is happening in this way and the most common reason that you will hear is that there are totally no traffic or reader reading the blog.
Readers is very important to a writer and similarly, a blog needs to have readers, visitors and fans so that the owner that writes the blog feel motivated to carry on writing.
There are a section of people who believe that if you write top quality article, it is just a matter of time that traffic will come. Frankly speaking, that is not true. Writing good article is important, but, at the same time, you also need to work on how to attract traffic.
You need to attract people to your blog and here are some of the ways to do so.
1. Make comments on other blogs. This is one of the most simplest way to attract traffic to your blog. Most blogs allowed reader to post comment about the article, and all you have to do is to write some comment, leave your blog URL and most of the times, people will click on your link and comes to your blog when they read the article.
2. Write an article that link to another post on other blogs. When you link your post to an article, the mechanism in the blogging platform you used will automatically post a trackback comment to the blog that you linked to. When someone read the article on that blog, he or she might be interested to see what you writes as well and will then click the link to your blog.
3. Submit your best post to blog carnival. A blog carnival is a post in a blog that features a list of selected articles from different blogs. If your articles featured on the front page, you should enjoy a spike in new readers.
Try out the above ways and see if your readers base increase. Remember, gaining new readers is something that you can work on instead of waiting.
