Considering that there are millions of blogs on the net, it is not surprise that some blogs have very few traffic. But though the reason is understandable, a blog without any traffic is bad for business. Use these 6 techniques to increase the traffic to your site today.
1. Write often - It's important to write as often as you could when starting out. The key is to meet the expectation of readers by being consistent in your posting frequency. I recommend 3 articles a week.
2. Write killer titles - There are many tips on the internet that addresses on writing great titles. To write a good title, make sure to not only target keywords for SEO, but also address the concern and problem of readers. For titles, the magic word that you should include often are "guide", "easy", "rules", "tips", "How-to".
3. Search Engine Optimization - When you write your blog posts and pages, remember to optimize your pages for search engines to find them. Include relevant keywords and links but don't overload your posts with too many relevant keywords or completely irrelevant keywords. Doing so can be considered spamming and could have negative results such as your blog being removed from Google's search entirely.
4. Participate at related forums and blogs - Whatever industry or niche you're in, there are bloggers, forums and an online community that's already active. Depending on the specificity of your focus, you may need to think one or two levels broader than your own content to find a large community, but with the size of the participatory web today, even the highly specialized content areas receive attention.
5. Link to other's article - Linking in and out helps a lot. Firstly, it helps you in providing proof about your thoughts as well as helps you get people link to you for providing a resourceful article.
6. RSS Feeds - Always syndicate RSS through feedburner, why? Because they are the best. Syndicating feeds also results in increasing traffic, as the people who are in list of your feed would definitely come back.

As there are other techniques that are not listed here, be sure to do your own research, and stick with a couple of the techniques that you are most comfortable with. It's important to remember that the key to a great blog is to be persistent in writing good content.
