Apr 15, 2009
If you are like most Microsoft Windows users, you have probably experienced problems related to registry errors. These errors usually lead to decreased performance and frequent crashes. They can also cause application errors and lockups of your system.
To fix these registry problems, you can use Microsoft registry fix programs. These programs allow you to automatically scan & fix registry problems. This allows you to fix any of the errors that are caused by these registry problems. But, what are the causes of these registry problems, and what can you do about them? In the rest of this article, I will answer these questions.
Remember when you first got you PC. It almost never crashed, and it started up without you having enough time to go make coffee. But, as you installed and removed software and hardware from your computer, it started to get slower and slower. Now, you are probably experiencing frequent freezes and crashes.
The main cause of these registry problems is that the Microsoft Windows installer leaves behind traces of all of the applications that it uninstalls. This leads to your registry file becoming corrupt, with lots of invalid entries and missing values.
This is why most experts agree that you need to reinstall Windows at least one time a year. This would not be necessary if you maintain your registry by using registry cleaner software.
So, how do you maintain your registry?
Lets now look at a 2 step process which will help you scan & fix registry problems that you may currently have, and also to keep your registry in a good condition going forward:
1. Use one of the free online registry scan utilities to scan your PC for errors. Just beware, some registry scan tools displays a large number of errors to get you to purchase their registry fix tool. Be sure to only use a registry scanner from a reputable company.
2. After finishing with the registry scan, you should have an indication of whether or not you need a registry cleaner. The next step is then to research which registry fix tool fits your requirements. You should use reviews of registry repair tools to do this.
The minimum requirements that any Microsoft registry fix tool should have are:
* The registry fixer should have a backup facility to allow you to make backups before making any changes
* The Microsoft registry fix tool should definitely allow you to do a full scan of your registry
* And finally, the registry tool should allow you to repair all of the found errors
* Another thing to look out for is if the registry cleaner allows you to setup a regular registry scan & fix schedule, which will allow you to set up the registry scanning schedule once and then forget about it
