Why Use OEM Canon Ink Cartridges (Paul Connolly)

There is no denying that OEM ink cartridges are better for your printer. This observation includes Canon ink cartridges. Most aftermarket cartridges can cause untold damages to the delicate interiors of your printer the problem is not just an issue with leakage as many may presume but rather with the ink itself.
It is a common fallacy that all ink is created equal. This is simply not the case. Many people who have attempted to use the cheap ink refill kits from brand stores or the clone ink cartridges on the market have discovered this truth for themselves. They do not work right.
Many aftermarket ink cartridges tend to leak. This is often because they are recycled materials that are cheaply made to begin with and improperly tested and cleaned. A leaky ink cartridge is more than a pain to clean up it can damage your printer beyond repair.
After all ink is a liquid and a printer is electronic if the liquid ink gets into the wrong place your printer can easily be ruined and because you tried to use a non OEM refill it will not be covered under any warranty.
Another issue that you may run into by not using the correct OEM refills is the ink itself may be bad. The ink used in many refill kits and clone cartridges are inferior inks. They are often either too thin or too thick and can damage the delicate jets that are made to spray the ink in certain ways and patterns to make the printed page.
An ink that is too thick can clog up these jets and result in not only a spotty print job but also damages to the printer. Inks that are too thin will tend to run and drip and cause other issues with the jets.
Last but not least is printing quality. Most people who have tried to use after market inks may have noticed the quality of the printing is in no way what they expect from their machine. You paid extra for a high quality printer so you expect crisp clean color and sharp well defined blacks. With the aftermarket inks more often than not you get pale colors and blurred edges. Not at all what you need or want.
If you are trying to print photographs you will be even more disappointed. Pictures require a delicate blending of ink cartridge colors to produce all of the colors involved in the picture. Even those colors you do not realize are there. After market ink cartridges just do not have the pure high quality colors needed to create some of the tones that are in a photograph leaving your printed copy looking awful and not at all like you wanted it to look.
Canon ink cartridges are made specifically for Canon printers. The inks used are specifically formulated to the correct weight for the printer's jets. The high quality formulation is made to recreate the colors and tones of your graphics as well as sharp and clear letters for your text.
